Family heritage
When I last went back to Indonesia, I had taken time to corner both of my grandmas and interrogate them about my family history. Believe me, this is easier said than done, because one of them was rather uncooperative. I ended up spending 2 hours in total with one, and about 12 hours cumulative with the other. The cooperative grandma told me about some very interesting stories, showed me some very interesting family photos, and even told me about some very interesting family members that I didn't even know existed before. Throughout my holiday, I even met some of those family members. I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed the experience in compiling the family tree, and I ended up learning more about my family history and heritage. I recommend the reader to do the same.
The result of my interrogation was compiled into a software called Heredis, and published using the option within the software. Consequently, the resulting pages are most probably not standards compliant, but should still be viewable from any sufficiently "modern" browser.
Most of the details on my family are still sketchy, at best. Old generations didn't bother to construct proper family tree to pass to the next generation. I hope to reverse the trend, at least in my family anyway. Also, as some of the individuals have no surname or their name is unknown, I had used a generic "-" to denote this. If you can help in adding/correcting the entries, please contact me. I can't give you any reward other than an acknowledgement, though.
There will be some pictures to be uploaded when I have the time. At the moment, I've got them all scanned in high resolution TIFF format. So, it's just a matter of sorting them out and converting them to JPEGs.
