The Zoo
We went to the Taronga Zoo by ferry called the Friendship. We came back on the Royale.
This rather scary looking koala guards the entrance to the zoo. Beware. He wants donations.
I wish I could be a koala...
This kangaroo seems content to eat dirt...
... while this one seems to ponder the deeper mysteries in life.
The kangaroos and wallabies are remarkably intelligent animals. The ones in this zoo seem to be able to read English.
This spider monkey obviously knows how to pose.
Barney the Kodiak bear has arthritis. Poor thing. It took him a great effort just to sit down.
There are two female Kodiak bears. Barney didn't like them, so he bit one of their right ears off. No kidding.
Aside from animals, the zoo also has a floral clock...
... and a high-tech cafeteria where they give you a pager to notify that your pizza is ready!
A stone platypus guards the Taronga Zoo sign. It was quite appropriate, as one of the highlight of the zoo trip was a platypus, which swam around while I was staring blankly at its aquarium.
Tobias taking a quick snap.
A rather nice looking ship.
Sydney Uni
The rear entry of the Madsen Building where Tim works.
The very impressive liquid nitrogen tank just off the Madsen Building.
Remember to heed the important warning before you fill up your liquid nitrogen container.
The Main Quadrangle of Sydney Uni. Click the image for the full panoramic view.
A nice shot of a lamp outside the Quadrangle.
A fancy shot of the Quadrangle's side entrance.
I love sandstone buildings.
The physics building.
Inside the Quadrangle.
Another nice sandstone building.
A pond at the very entrance of the uni.
A view of Sydney Uni from the little bridge at the entrance.
