Holiday within a holiday
During my holiday in Indonesia, I took another holiday within a holiday to Singapore on 3-7 Dec 2003. The purpose of the trip was to visit my brother who I hadn't seen in 2 years. Of course, the real reason he wanted me to visit him was because he needed help in taking all his stuff back home.

A short flight took me to Singapore's Changi airport.

The control tower at the airport. No, I wasn't leaning.
A waterfall at Changi airport. Quite nice, actually.
The airport is a haven for people wanting to skip school.

The MRT
Transportation in Singapore is excellent. The main transportation method they have is called MRT. They are faster and probably more efficient than trains in Melbourne.
This escalator took us from the airport terminal to the MRT station.

Inside the train. This was taken during off-peak hour. During peak hour, the train is absolutely full of people. Fortunately, Singapore is a relatively small country. So you won't have to stand for too long.
This shot was taken inside the new train. They are driverless, so we can go right to the front and see a wonderful view of the tunnel.
This LRT is the equivalent of trams in Melbourne. They only go on a loop over short distances.
The ACS
The ACS is one of the schools in Singapore. My brother went here for his O-levels and A-levels. There is a boarding school in this ACS(I) complex, where my brother stayed.

A game of cricket, anyone?
Encounter with the wildlife
We went to the Singapore Zoo and Sentosa Island's Underwater World to see the local and non-local wildlife.

Guess who made this abstract painting.
One of these guys made the painting.
This baboon made a half-hearted attempt to see what's going on. Or at least, I think it's a baboon.
One of these things is not like the other.
I feel sorry for these guys.
I don't know why they have such a demeaning name. They all look normal to me.
This otter seems to be fascinated by us.
A cute, furry little critter.
A rather large crocodile.
This poor little turtle must be so thirsty!
Two orangutans pondering the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.
Relaxing moments for the polar bears before they perform in front of live audience.

There's even a wishing well in Singapore Zoo!
A seahorse swimming in his tank at the Underwater World. Can you spot him?
A rather nice looking jellyfish.

No, this is not a sword-wielding ninja.
It's a swordfish.
