Lorne 2004 Part 2

Erskine Falls

The Erskine Falls are located 9 km from the main city of Lorne. There were 6 of us, packed in Sue's little car: Sue, Yoke, Susan, Agata, Cheryl, and myself. But, it was all worth it in the end.

Roundabout at carpark

The roundabout at the Erskine Falls carpark was this tree stump.

Sneak peak of the waterfall

We got this lovely sneak peak of the Erskine Falls from way up high.

Encouraging sign at the top of the steps

Of course, they tried everything they can to stop us from going.

The Erskine Falls

Lucky for us, we didn't listen to the warning.

Looking back towards the Erskine Falls

On our way to the Straw Falls, looking back towards the Erskine Falls.

Fallen tree

A fallen tree provides a nice backdrop.

Surrounding area of the falls

The surrounding area of the falls.

Straw Falls

The Straw Falls, located just a short walk away from the main Erskine Falls.

Teddy's Lookout

Teddy's Lookout is located about 2 km from the main city of Lorne. Although you can go by car, I prefer to walk. It's a long, 2 km walk over steep road, but it was fun.

Crossroad

This thoughtful sign shows the way to Teddy's Lookout and several other places.

Sign at Teddy's Lookout

A nice sign at Teddy's Lookout, with distances to several cities written on it.

The lookout

This is the lookout itself. There is another, identical one, about 100 m down the steps from this one.

The Great Ocean Road

You can see the Great Ocean Road from Teddy's Lookout…

The sea

… with a great view of the sea…

The hills

… and the hills.

Queen's Park

There's a path that runs through the Queen's Park, parallel to the main road.

A nice view inside the park

The path itself is quite nice…

A spooky view inside the park

… altough sometimes can be quite spooky…

A strange view inside the park

… or downright strange.

I think it's a cow

Speaking of strange, I leave you with this image from one of the houses I passed. I think it's a cow of some kind. But I can't be sure. Don't even ask about the man tied to the tree.
